European near-real-time ionosphere TEC maps based on multi-GNSS observations

Chevalier, Jean-Marie ; Bergeot, Nicolas

Dataset released under the open data policy

Abstract: The ionosphere above Europe is monitored in near-real time using GPS, Galileo and GLONASS observations of the EUREF Permanent Network since the 17th May 2022. The ionospheric vertical Total Electron Content (TEC) and its variability are now estimated every 5 minutes on a 0.5°x0.5° grid. This service delivers the IONEX TEC products at https://gnss.be/SpaceWeather/Products/IONEX/ and a web service highlighting the ionospheric activity at https://gnss.be/SpaceWeather/index.php. This dataset replaces since the 17th May 2022, the discontinued GPS-based near-real time ionospheric TEC maps over Europe delivered every 15 minutes since 2012.
