000007286 520__ $$aThe aim of the internship is the geological and geotechnical characterisation of the permanent seismic station in Tangissart (TGA) in Walloon Brabant (Belgium). This internship forms part of a larger project (EPOS.BE) which aims to characterise all the seismic stations in the Belgian Seismic Network, operated and maintained by ROB. With refraction seismics and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), information about the geology around TGA, the soil thickness, the shear wave velocity, and the fundamental frequency has been determined. The results show that the soil thickness along a seismic profile parallel to TGA varies between 45 and 86 cm. However, below the seismic station TGA, there is no soil present. The mean shear-wave velocity of the seismic bedrock below TGA is 1308 +- 170 m/s.
