    <subfield code="a">The continuous discovery of exoplanets driven by the unprecedented detection capabilities of both ground based and space borne instruments opens the way to characterizing distant atmospheres with even greater accuracy. Nevertheless, the exercise is challenging due to the many unknowns about these bodies and the limitations of the current radiative transfer tools. In this work, we will identify differences between the radiative transfer models used in two communities, the planetary and exoplanetary ones. Typically, we will model an (exo)Venus with different models and assess the importance of 1) the clouds’ description and 2) the atmospheric symmetry approximation. We will show how the description of physical processes in radiative transfer models may impact our understanding of these atmospheres, especially for the high-quality exoplanet data available now and in the near future.</subfield>
