Tests of Fundamental Physics From the Propagation of GNSS Signals.

Bertrand, Bruno ; Defraigne, Pascale

Talk presented at 2019 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and European Frequency and Time Forum (IFCS-EFTF 2019) on 2019-04-16

Abstract: We relate some models of new physics in the electromagnetic sector to the macroscopic "unit system"-free expression of Maxwell’s equations. We illustrate our method in the case of recently introduced models of domain wall dark matter. A new phenomenology for the propagation of GNSS signals is described and preliminary results show measurable effects for time and frequency transfer. Our results pave the way towards tests of fundamental physics using GNSS signals, in addition to the recently developed tests with atomic clocks.
