Abstract: Highlights of the meeting on Stellar Atmospheres in the Gaia Era: Quantitative Spectroscopy and Comparative Spectrum Modeling (http://great-esf.oma.be and mirrored at http://spectri.freeshell.org/great-esf) held on 23-24 June 2011 in Brussels, Belgium are emphasized. New research results are summarized and a record of the scientific discussions during the meeting is provided, as well as important open questions for future research.
